Legendary music photographer Henry Diltz and show producer Peter Blachley have announced the launch a new tour of Diltz’s era-defining storytelling, featuring a stage presentation of his iconic photographs of music legends Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Eagles, Jackson Browne, The Doors, and many other music luminaries at venues throughout cities in California as well as Phoenix, Arizona during the month of May.

The tour, billed as California Dreamin' – Behind the Lens, will begin on May 8th at The Largo at The Coronet in Los Angeles. Henry will be introduced by his long-time friend Jackson Browne at the Los Angeles tour date kick-off. Behind the Lens is a one-hour plus visual feast of music photography and stories as told from one of the world’s most iconic music photographers who documented truly memorable times.

Other Southern California dates include The Belly Up in Solana Beach on May 11th and The Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara on May 31st. A Northern California Tour will follow with dates confirmed in Mill Valley at Sweetwater Music Hall on May 27th, Menlo Park at The Guild Theatre on May 28th and Grass Valley at The Center for The Arts on May 30th.  Diltz will also appear at The MIM Center in Phoenix, AZ on May 13th.

In the world of music photography, Henry Diltz occupies the upper strata of legendary photographers. His images of popular musicians of the Sixties and Seventies defined the musical landscape of that time, when a photographer could create lasting friendships and document each artist’s beginning to their assent to fame.

"I never thought of myself as a professional photographer, in capital letters,” Diltz declares. “For me, it was always the experience of hanging out. Like that day with James Taylor, I had a great time listening to him play. I could listen to him play for hours, just watching and taking pictures. I have great patience in that regard because that’s where I want to be anyway."

The California Dreamin' – Behind the Lens tour will be produced by Peter Blachley, co-founder of The Morrison Hotel Gallery. Though Diltz's iconic work rests mostly with an earlier era, he remains active in the music industry. Most recently, he has kept in touch with his old friends Stephen Stills and Graham Nash in support of their current musical efforts, and toured with Garth Brooks as his official photographer. Diltz's photographs have appeared on over 200 album covers and in magazines such as NewsweekPeople, and Rolling Stone.

Henry Diltz will be available to hand-sign and make available for purchase, his most famous photographic prints in a special after-show meet and greet. A portion of the money from this tour will go to the victims of the devastating California fires.
