People in the know may often boast about the perks for membership but then again there is the famous Groucho Marx quote, “I don’t want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member.”
Well, obviously, Groucho never made it to Gravitas in Beverly Hills.
Gravitas is a 27,000-square-foot private members’ club that offers impeccable service, fine dining and curated amenities. Located in the Golden Triangle of Beverly Hills (between Santa Monica Boulevard, Canon Drive and Wilshire Boulevard), Gravitas is the brainchild of entrepreneur Brandon Steven and hospitality industry veteran Seth Glassman—previously of Innovative Dining Group (BOA, Katana, Sushi Roku). And this hospitality dynamic duo aims to offer exceptional food, outstanding service and remarkable individuals.

The multi-story club features open air dining when weather permits as the indoor garden roof is retractable, temperature-controlled wine lockers, a podcast recording studio, private rooms (with poker table if you want it), G.E.M. booths (private dining booths for elite members), and G-Cars (complimentary chauffeur service for comfort and convenience within a two-mile radius).

Indeed, membership does have its perks.
Step inside Gravitas and enter a hospitable haven where you’re greeted by your name (if you’re a member). Get ready to make yourself at home. To the right is the bar and garden area for wining and dining and to the left is another bar, additional dining room, The Vault (this space used to be a Wells Fargo bank) as well as wine lockers. Venture upstairs and relax or work in another expansive bar area, which can also serve as a large event space with multiple TVs that can be made into one mega screen for the ultimate Formula-1 or Super Bowl party. Apparently, the World Series viewing parties were not to be missed.
If you’re looking to dine (and why wouldn’t you?), Chef Preston Madson overseas a perfectly crafted California-inspired menu serving dishes with Mediterranean and Asian influences. Menu options include sushi, steak from Creekstone Farms, wagyu from Australia and Japan, pastas, sandwiches and classic comfort food fare.

Start off with a classic martini—perfect for a power hour meeting. The octopus is a lovely starter as is the Baked Crab Roll.

The Chicken Parmigiana with tomato sauce, mozzarella, arugula, and parmigiana is a favorite of Glassman and for good reason. The presentation on this one is terrific as I’ve never seen chicken parm like this before. It’s served and sliced like a pizza with all the comfort goodness we love from a traditional chicken parmigiana.

The steaks are also solid options here. Cooked to you liking, the aim is definitely to please here. And please they do (and then some) with the Cheese Cake. This decadent dessert with fig accompaniment has the most wonderful look to it and is solely original. It is as pleasing as its presentation is impressive.

Gravitas membership is currently $5,500 per year with a $2,500 initiation fee. For those under 30, annual dues are $4,000. The spouse package is $7,500 for two people. The Gravitas Elite Membership (G.E.M.) includes a personalized oversized wine locker, unlimited G-Car service, five expedited applications for family and friends, three guest passes per month, priority reservations and more perks.
Gravitas is a members-only club located at 435 N. Camden Avenue in Beverly Hills.
