Viral Comedian Gianmarco Soresi is coming to town to perform as part of the Netflix is a Joke Fest. In support of his Leaning In Tour, the comic will perform on Thursday, May 2 at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever and on Friday, May 3 at The Comedy Store at 7pm hosting a live podcast and as part of the Uncle Function improv group at Westside Comedy Theater at 9:45pm.
Gianmarco Soresi is a New York based stand-up comedian, actor, and creator known for his sharp societal observation and spry, energetic stage presence. Soresi effortlessly commands a room with his animated style, blending upbeat candor with dark comedic beats, which has garnered him critical acclaim from NPR, Esquire, The Atlantic, Buzzfeed, ABC News, and many more. He’s performed stand-up on “The Late Late Show with James Corden”, Comedy Central, “Don’t Tell”, “The Real Housewives of New York”, and was selected as a JFL New Face in 2022. A performer on Netflix’s “Verified Standup” (Season 1), Gianmarco has also acted in Billy Crystal's Here Today, Netflix’s Bonding, Hustlers, “The Last O.G.”, and is the host of the popular podcast “The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi.”
“I became a stand-up comedian after failing for many years in the acting industry” Soresi has said. “And that’s not me trying to be self-deprecating! Sometimes after a show, audience members will be like, "How’s the acting career going?" and I’ll reply, "I don’t know, how often did you see Meryl Streep headline a Looney Bin Comedy Club in Oklahoma City?"
The always popular Netflix is a Joke Fest is a nearly two-week long festival setup to celebrate the best in comedy from May 1-12. This year’s performances include the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, Kevin Hart, Seth Rogan, John Mulaney, Sarah Silverman. Trevor Noah, The Ali Wong Residency at The Wiltern, Bill Burr, Ronny Chieng, as well as Janelle James of “Abbott Elementary”.
And while it’s always great to score a ticket to see the biggest names in comedy, it’s also a real treat to see someone on the verge of stardom. Gianmarco Soresi is a comic to watch. And his show at The Masonic Lodge on May 2 is a hot ticket to see a rising star.
