DESCANSO TO HOST EXCLUSIVE WINE-TASTING DINNER

Attention wine lovers and foodies, Descanso, SoCal’s beloved modern taqueria celebrating authentic Mexican flavors, proudly announces an exclusive Wine Tasting Dinner event on Wednesday, April 3. 

 

This evening promises a delightful exploration of wine, with guests invited to indulge in a delectable four-course dinner thoughtfully paired with exceptional wines from the prestigious portfolio of WX Wine Brands. From the bold notes of Baileyana to the vibrant flavors of Chronic Cellars, and the iconic tastes of The Icon Rock and Trapiche, each wine has been meticulously selected to enhance and elevate the culinary experience. 



Under the guidance of Chef Jose Angulo, the menu will feature a selection of dishes highlighting seasonal ingredients and culinary expertise. Guests can anticipate a variety of tantalizing appetizers, flavorful main courses, and decadent desserts, thoughtfully curated to complement the exceptional wines being served.



From the moment guests take their first sip to the final bite, each course guarantees to deliver a memorable dining experience, creating lasting memories. Adding to the ambiance, live music will serenade guests, enhancing the evening's enjoyment, promising an evening of unforgettable delight. First Course 

Scallops Aguachile

Scallops marinated in a guava and passionfruit sauce, tangerine, serrano chile and red fresno chiles 

Wine Pairing: Tangent Albarino from Edna Valley, CA

 

Second Course 

Pork Almond Lemon Crust 

Pork loin filet accompanied with pear sauce and peach purée

Wine Pairing: Icon Rock Chardonnay from Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina

 

Third Course 

Beef Loin En Salsa de Frutos Rojos

Beef loin with fruit sauce: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and sautéed garlic spinach

Wine Pairing: Baileyana Pinot Noir from Edna Valley, CA

 

Fourth course 

Muslo de Pato al Mole Negro 

Duck leg marinated in a shallot red wine vinegar with Mole Negro and roasted white sesame seeds

Wine Pairing: Trapiche Gran Medalla Cabernet Sauvignon from Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina

PRICE: This wine and culinary journey, priced at $85 per person, ensures an unforgettable evening of indulgence.
