Always one of my very favorite events of the year, Art Beyond the Glass (ABTG) is returning for its thirteenth installment celebrating all things bartenders. This is a bartender extravaganza where some of LA’s best bartenders lend their other talents (music, painting, poetry, photography etc.) to raise money for a worthy cause—this year it’s MusiCares.

ABTG XIII will take place on Sunday, June 29 at Catch One. Tickets are on sale now at the Catch One website. Your ticket includes admission, food and drinks, and access to all areas of the festival. This is a 21+ event.

In Los Angeles, perhaps more than any city in America, bartenders, when they aren’t creating delicious drinks, are pursuing a passion and/or profession in the arts – music, painting, poetry, photography, etc.

Co-founded by Daniel Djang and Zahra Bates, ABTG provides a platform for more than 100 of LA's top bartenders to make cocktails and showcase their artistic talents, with proceeds donated to MusiCares. Since its inception, ABTG has raised more than $250,000 for arts-based nonprofits in LA and across the country. "It's hard to believe that what began as a casual conversation at Sunny Spot in November 2011 has grown into this extraordinary event," says Djang. "The cocktail creativity and artistic talent of the bar community in LA and beyond never ceases to amaze me. We are so grateful for the generosity of our sponsoring brands and the numerous venues that have welcomed us into their spaces. Can't wait to reunite with the extended ABTG family at ABTG XIII!"

For the 13th Los Angeles event, Art Beyond the Glass is honored to raise funds for MusicCares, which helps the humans behind music because music gives so much to the world. Offering preventive, emergency, and recovery programs, MusiCares is a safety net supporting the health and welfare of the music community. Founded by the Recording Academy in 1989 as a U.S. based, independent 501(c)(3) charity, MusiCares safeguards the well-being of all music people through direct financial grant programs, networks of support resources, and tailored crisis relief efforts.

ABTG will feature dozens of bartenders from LA’s top bars and restaurants, including The MermaidBaby Gee, the launch of the Black Lagoon Summer Series, and a special all-women Legacy Team spotlighting Brent Falco, Cari Hah, Danielle Crouch, Dee Ann Quinones, Gianna Johns, Kiowa Bryan and Yael Vengroff. Guests will also be able to buy bartender art, shop handmade items by bartenders, and bid on silent auction items.

ABTG XIII will take place on Sunday, June 29 at Catch One, located at 4067 W. Pico Blvd, from 3-7pm. Tickets are on sale now for $65 and if still available on Sunday at 3pm they will be on sale at the door for $75. This event is 21+.
