Summer fun officially kicks off with the return of Art Beyond the Glass (ABTG), back for Year 14 on Sunday, June 28th at Catch One nightclub where more than 100 of L.A.'s top bartenders will make cocktails and showcase their artistic talents, with proceeds donated to Hollywood Fringe Festival. Since its inception, ABTG has raised more than $250,000 for arts-based nonprofits in L.A. and across the country.
“I am consistently in awe of the level of imagination and execution of the bar teams each year,” says Claire Mallett, ABTG Producer. “The industry's dedication to this event is outstanding. While other Southern California areas like San Diego and Palm Springs have really great yearly festivals, Art Beyond the Glass is the only annual Industry festival in Los Angeles. People really look forward to it and I believe it's a day that pulls the community together. It's also an interesting merger of trade and consumer attendance that is rare. I feel very honored and privileged to produce this event alongside our hardworking production team. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this year!”
Co-founded by Daniel Djang and Zahra Bates, ABTG is the original celebration of bartender artistry and widely regarded as one of the country's premier cocktail culture festivals. From painting to photography, live music, DJs and more, every ABTG showcases the creative pursuits of bartenders when they're not behind the bar.
"It's hard to believe that what began as a casual conversation at a bar in November 2011 has grown into this extraordinary event," says Djang. "The cocktail creativity and artistic talent of the bar community in L.A. and beyond never ceases to amaze me. We are so grateful for the generosity of our sponsoring brands and bartender volunteers for donating their time.”
Every year, ABTG is always one of my favorite events in the City of Los Angeles. It’s a fun atmosphere loaded with creative cocktails where goods drinks freely flow for a good cause.
Art Beyond the Glass is taking place for the fifth consecutive year at Catch One nightclub. For its 14th L.A. event, ABTG is raising funds for the Hollywood Fringe Festival, which started in 2010 as Hatchery Arts. The annual Hollywood Fringe is an open-access, community-driven event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community with hundreds of productions by local, national and international arts companies and independent performers.

ABTG is once again partnering with their fiscal partner Another Round Another Rally, a nonprofit financial resource for the hospitality industry. "It is an honor to be a part of one of the most creative, innovative industry events across the country,” says ARAR co-founder Travis Nass. “We have always loved Art Beyond the Glass, and it is such a pleasure to be able to work with them again this year. We could not be prouder to work with this wonderful organization."
Each ticket includes entry, cocktail samples, art gallery, entertainment and bar bites. In addition, guests will be able to purchase bartender artwork, buy raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items such as artwork, photography, rare spirits and more. All proceeds from ABTG XIV will be donated to Hollywood Fringe.
Art Beyond the Glass will take place on Sunday, June 28 from 3pm to 7pm at Catch One, located at 4067 W. Pico Boulevard. Click here to buy tickets.
