WHAT THE HECK ARE THE SOUTH KOREANS THINKING?
File under: WTF? Is it just me, or this is ‘poor taste/ judgment’ personified?
A Dutch architectural firm designing a two South Korean skyscrapers in Seoul apparently didn’t think their plans resemble the World Trade Center under attack on Sept. 11, 2001.
The firm, MVRDV, apologized on its website Monday after being criticized for the resemblance between the exploding Twin Towers and the "pixelated cloud" designed to bridge two Seoul skyscrapers.
"There is nothing finalized about the design," Seo Hee Seok, a spokesman for the project's developer, told Bloomberg News Tuesday.
Ironically, the Seoul towers, designed to stand 57 and 60 stories high, are planned for a development near U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, the headquarters for U.S. armed forces in the country, which is slated to return to South Korean control by 2016, Bloomberg has reported.
In its apology, the firm said it wasn't its intention for the building to resemble the attacks and that no issues were raised about it while designing the structure.
"Don't insult our intelligence," John Feal, a first responder who lost part of his foot after being injured at ground zero, told CBS News station WCBS-TV in New York. "To many, the wound hasn't closed, so when you see pictures like that it keeps that wound open."
While definitely controversial, do you these designs are mocking in nature? It’s hard to believe they’re some random coincidence. Either way, it begs the questions, what they hell were they thinking?

ZACK DE LA ROCHA POSTS NEW POEM
IN SUPPORT OF OCCUPY MOVEMENT
Activist and outspoken Rage Against the Machine singer Zack de la Rocha has penned the following poem in support of the two-month old Occupy movement.
“This poem is dedicated to the Occupy movement whose courage is changing the world,” de la Rocha says. “Stay Strong. We are winning.”
The beginning spills through city veins
Into the arteries
And under powers poison clouds
We move like the shadows
Through the alley ways
Through nightmares bought and sold as dreams
Through barren factories
Through boarded schools
Through rotting fields
Through the burning doors of the past
Through imaginations exploding
To break the curfews in our minds
Our actions awaken dreams of actions multiplied
A restless fury
Once buried like burning embers
Left alone to smolder
But together stacked under the walls of a dying order
All sparks are counted
Calloused hands raised in silence
Over the bonfire of hope unincorporated
It's flame restores tomorrows meaning
Across the graveyards of hollow promises
As gold dipped vultures pick at what is left of our denial
And the youngest among us
Stare at us stoned like eyes determined
And say
Death for us may come early
Cause dignity has no price
At the corner of now and nowhere
Anywhere
Everywhere
Tomorrow is calling
Tomorrow is calling
Do not be afraid
